Brenda J Kelley, 63, of Quincy passed away peacefully Monday, February 23, 2026 at her home in the loving care of her sister and her favorite niece.
A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
Brenda was a proud graduate of Kellogg Community College earning her degree in accounting. In addition to working in the accounting field as a tax specialist, she devoted much of her life to caring for others, including her in-laws, her father and mother and her husband of 29 years.
Brenda was well known in the community, actively volunteering for the Branch Area Food Pantry for many years. Her passion in life was service to others, often going above and beyond for not only those she knew and loved, but for strangers as well.
Brenda’s hobbies included attending concerts, gardening, canning foods, but her favorite thing to do was to hop on her mower, turn up the music and mow her yard. Brenda especially loved spending time with her kitties, Ash, Skinny and Nugget.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Shirley Kelley who resided in Orland Indiana, her twin brother Brent, her loving husband of 29 years Doug Zimmerman and her sister-in-law, Linda Kerchner.
She is survived by her sister, Theresa Friend; her niece Katie Friend; nephew, Lonnie Friend; nieces, Billy Friend, Kelley Nelson, Amber Elaine; stepdaughters, Debra Singleton and Sara Herrman; stepson Justin Zimmerman; her brother and sister in laws, Nancy Perry and John Zimmerman.
In addition, she is survived by two very special friends, Kim and Patti whom she met while volunteering at the Branch Areas Food Bank.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Brenda’s honor to the Branch Area Food Pantry, 22 Pierson Street, Coldwater, Michigan 49036.
