Jerry D. Owens, 77, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Beacon Health in Kalamazoo.
A funeral service will be held at Hope Church in Coldwater Thursday, March12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
Visitation will take place prior at the church from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Interment will be held following the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
He was born December 24, 1948, in Union City, Indiana to Powell Owens and Marie (Sutton) Bush.
Jerry married Carolyn (Jordon) Owens, who preceded him in death March 5, 1985. He married Karen D. Smith July 29, 1988. She preceded him in death February 26, 2020.
Jerry honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He spent many years working as a truck driver and later drove for BATA Bus for more than 15 years. Jerry was a member of Hope Church in Coldwater and actively participated in the church’s Men’s Group, Jerry often enjoyed going to Sunday School, bible study and the senior center.
Jerry enjoyed driving, whether it was a truck across the country or helping others by taking them to doctor’s appointments and Church. He was a very social man who loved talking and visiting with others. Known for his kindness and strong faith, Jerry left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his children, Stephanie Owens, David (Tina) Owens, and Amanda (Andy) Miller; his siblings, Larry Owens and John (Barb) Owens; and his grandchildren, Solomon Owens, Ryleigh Miller, and Caiden Miller, along with many other loving family members.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his wives, Carolyn Owens and Karen Owens and his step-parents Peggy Owens and Lyle Bush.
