It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary Pearson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this world March 13, 2026 at the age of 78. Gary left us while surrounded by the comfort of his home in the loving embrace of his family.
There will be no services held at this time. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Gary was born September 18, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan, where he graduated from Lakeview High School and went on to serve in the Air National Guard from 1967-1971.
October 5, 1968, Gary married Lynda Tappenden. Their union of over 57 years was dedicated to raising their family.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynda, his children Tim Pearson (Melissa), Tara Maurer (Kevin), and Adam Pearson (Cheyenne). Gary’s legacy is further carried by his grandchildren Taylin, Kaden, Blake, Kyler, Karsen, James, Lane, Noah, Ethan, Luke, Addison, Mylee, Emmalyn, Huntleigh, Roan, Lynx, Woodlynne, and great-grandchildren Elizabeth and River.
He worked various jobs throughout his life, culminating in a rewarding role as a bus driver for Quincy Community Schools. It was here that Gary found joy in interacting with students and supporting their sporting events.
Gary found pleasure while fishing, gardening, and crafting woodworking projects. He spent much of his time enjoying the sporting events and activities his many grandchildren participated in.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Hillsdale County, whose care, compassion, and unending love provided solace during Gary’s final days. In the words of the family, “They are truly beautiful people.”
