Bonnie Kay Bowerman, 79, passed away March 23, 2026, surrounded by her family following a brief battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 12:00 p.m at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Larry Bowerman; her children, Lara (Kevin) White; Marcy (Bill) Adkins; and Kenyon (Dustin) Bowerman-Hagfors; her grandchildren, Brendan (Melissa) White, Tyler “TJ” Elliott (Tori), Trevor (Julianna) Elliott, and Lily Adkins; and great-grandchildren, Alana Elliott, Riley White, and Lucia Elliott. She is also survived by brothers, Leonard (Norie) Horn and Keith (Traci) Horn; her best friend Carol Salyer, and “Big Sister” Roma Bishop; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents.
She was born December 14, 1946 to Leonard W. and Lillian H. Horn. Bonnie was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1965, and later attended Cleary College. She married Larry Bowerman July 6, 1968.
She spent many years cheering passionately for Michigan State Athletics, the Detroit Tigers, and most importantly, her grandchildren in their various sporting activities.
She worked as a legal secretary and was a longtime member of the league of women voters and the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club.
Bonnie enjoyed baking, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the joy she brought to those around her.
