Michael Joseph “Mike” Czeiszperger, 77, of Union City, formerly of Chesaning, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, surrounded by his family.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration dinner will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the VFW Post #5319, 120 Veterans Dr., Athens, MI.
He will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Mike was born June 22, 1948 to Steve and Eleanor (Bolf) Czeiszperger in Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Chesaning Union High School with the Class of 1966. He married Connie Markva in 1970 in Saginaw.
Mike proudly served in the United States Army from 1968-1969, where he went overseas to Vietnam. After returning to civilian life, he worked at General Motors, where he was a press operator for many years.
Mike and Connie moved to Union City in 2019 to be closer to family, after living in Chesaning for many years.
Mike was a proud member of the VFW Post #5319 and a lifelong member of Chesaning Conservation Club. In Mike’s free time you could find him sitting in his hunting blind, fishing, woodworking, mowing, golfing, throwing horseshoes, and playing fastpitch softball. He played in many high-level softball and horseshoe tournaments.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Connie; his children, Daniel (Anne) of Angola, IN, James (Chris) of Sherwood, Michael of Owosso, Katie of Perry, Shaun (Aimee) of Eddyville, KY; his beloved dog Molly; his siblings, Steve (Helena ) of Oakley, Charles (Pam) of Coleman, and Lauralie (Anthony) of MS; his grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Timothy, Scott, Paul, Connor, Kaylee, Brett, Ryan, and Mikelle; many great-grandchildren; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother in-law, Georgia (Jim) Coon.
