COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two members of the Branch County Board of Commissioners survived Republican Primary challenges Tuesday.
Randall Hazelbaker defeated Alexia Rish 866-237 in the Fifth District, while Commission Chair Ted Gordon defeated Scott Stevens 609-255 in the Fourth District.
Republican Commissioners Leonard Kolcz, Terri Norris and Don Vrablic all ran unopposed. No Democrats were on the primary ballot.
Republican 16th District State Senator Mike Shirkey also survived a primary challenge from Matt Dame by an almost 2-1 margin.
Democrats in the Seventh Congressional District selected Gretchen Driskell in Tuesday’s Primary. She collected nearly 85 percent of the vote and will run against Republican incumbent Tim Walberg in November.
