COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 17-year-old Coldwater High School student died Thursday morning, following an overnight shooting incident.
The teenager’s mother discovered him unresponsive in their home and immediately contacted emergency services.
Coldwater Police, Fire, and LifeCare Ambulance crews responded to the scene, but the victim later succumbed to his injuries.
Coldwater Community Schools has deployed grief counselors and therapy dogs to both the high school and Legg Middle School to support students and staff.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
