COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the City Council Monday night he has been assured by the Michigan Department of Transportation that the the reconstruction of the railroad crossing as well as the replacement of the signal on Division Street at Park Street will be done in time for the Branch County Fair, which starts August 5.
Part of the detour for the construction takes drivers by the Branch County Fairgrounds. The work started last Monday, one week earlier than scheduled. It was expected to take two weeks to complete.
The work on the railroad tracks is the first phase of the Business Loop I-69 milling and repaving project.
The rest of the work will begin after the Branch County Fair and extend for five miles from the Fenn Road interchange across US-12 and north on Marshall to Pierce Street.
