COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A squirrel is being blamed by the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities. for a brief power outage that affected parts of tColdwater for about a half hour Monday afternoon.
Those affected lost their power just after 3:00 p.m..
Several traffic signals went down and that forced drivers to treat those intersections, including the always busy intersection of U.S. 12 and Willowbrook Road, as four way stops.
The outages were hit and miss. Areas that lost power included West Pierce, Morse, Tibbits Street, Willowbrook Road, Fairfield Drive, West Pearl, East Chicago Street (east of I-69) and West Chicago Street in the vicinity of Polk Street.
