Carl L. Leavitt, 82, of Coldwater passed away Wednesday May 13, 2026 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall.
A service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with close friends, Richard Lind and Dave Brown officiating.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Carl was born May 13, 1944 in Quincy, MI to William and Ardella (Jetmore) Leavitt. He married Ina “Faye” Sparks September 17, 1966.
Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to working at Crotty Corporation, the Flour Mill in Quincy, and later at Putnam Hitch in Bronson, where he retired after years of faithful employment.
A devoted member of Christian Pilgrim Church in Coldwater, Carl cherished his faith and the fellowship of his church family. In his free time, he could often be found enjoying the simple pleasures he loved most—fishing, camping, deer hunting, and sharing coffee and conversation with friends.
Above all, Carl treasured time spent with his family. He also took great pride in his collection of Matchbox cars, a hobby that brought him much joy over the years.
Carl is survived by his wife, Faye Leavitt; his brother Harold (Linda) Leavitt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings William Leavitt, Jr., Doris Leavitt, Charles Leavitt, and Ronnie Leavitt.
Memorials may be directed to the Branch County Veterans Affairs Office.
