COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners accepted 10 annual reports during Tuesday’s meeting.
Among the reports accepted was one from the Branch County Road Commission. Commissioner Don Vrablic said revenues for the Road Commission increased in 2017.
They received $5.8 million compared to $4.4 million in 2016. But the cost of materials continues to be a challenge especially oil based materials.
Meanwhile, Vrablic said the 2017 Branch County Parks Department report showed a healthy fund balance of over $464,000.
The new handicap accessible restroom facility at Messenger Lake Beach is being made possible by a $135,000 grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. The total cost is $270,000 with the Parks Department providing a 50 percent match.
