Alan Wayne “Butch” Weaver, 83, of Bronson passed away peacefully in the sanctity of his home at Gilead Lake Friday, May 22, 2026.
Alan will be cremated and he will later be interred at North Gilead Cemetery overlooking his beloved lake and home.
There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Assumption Church in Bronson and a celebration of life.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Butch was born July 4, 1942 to Morley Weaver and Mary (Greek) Towers in Coldwater, MI. He married Beverly (Malovey) Weaver on June 2nd, 1962, at St Mary’s Assumption Church in Bronson.
Butch started his successful career at the LA Darling Company in Bronson, transitioning to Workwall and then to Kitsch Company initially in Sturgis and later in Middlebury, IN. After retiring from Kirsch, he worked at K&W Manufacturing in Bronson and Starr Industries until his final retirement.
Butch was a member of the Knights of Columbus and actively participated in many activities through St. Mary’s Assumption Church and school.
Butch dedicated himself to his career, his family and his home. He was a wonderful father and a very passionate grandfather.
Alan is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Stoneburner of Bronson and Marchelle (Marcy) Rzepka of Lansing; his two grandsons, Reese (Allyssa) Stoneburner of Southern Pines, NC and Drew (Elizabeth Hume) of Davenport, IA; one sister, Sandra (Jake) Zabonick of Coldwater Lake, nieces and nephew Amanda (Sean) Fitzpatrick, Aaron Zabonick and Cheryl (Tom) Back of Union City.
Alan was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 62 years, Beverly, his son Mark Weaver and his parents, Morley Weaver and Mary Towers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Assumption School.
