BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A pole barn and its contents are reported to be a total loss following a Saturday afternoon fire in Bethel Township.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says Bronson fire crews responded to 543 Clearwater Road when a blaze in a 36’ X 60’ pole barn was reported at about 4:40 p.m..
Wilber reports it is believed that the blaze started from a malfunctioning kerosene cook stove being used to can food inside the structure.
No injuries were reported. The Lakeland Fire Department also responded to provide water and manpower due to the warm weather.
Crews were on the scene for about 90 minutes.
