COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was a frustrating holiday for the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities, their employees, and their customers as they had to deal with a telecommunications outage involving their internet service provider. The problems started Tuesday afternoon and caused some CBPU customers to vent their frustrations on social media.
In a press release issued by the CBPU said at around midnight Wednesday that they were notified that their internet service provider Everstream would be performing emergency maintenance to replace their entire 144 fiber strand.
The utility said it was not an issue with Skitter TV, adding that the outage was a direct result of breaks in the fiber.
It was first reported Tuesday that there was a communications issue between Marshall and Tekonsha.
The CBPU said in their latest statement that, “We cannot apologize enough for this interruption in service and wish that our crews could assist in the restoration efforts. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and consideration while others are working on this holiday to fix the issues.“
