COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of the suspects involved in an Algansee Township home invasion in March which led to one of the occupants shooting at the suspects was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court.
20-year-old Branden Michael Swander is facing charges of second degree attempted home invasion and second degree conspiracy to commit home invasion. Bond was set at $100,000 with a probable cause hearing scheduled for July 10, 2018.
Michigan State Police picked up Swander last Saturday at the Erie County Jail in Sandusky, Ohio and then brought him back to Branch County.
The owner of the home said at the time she thought the men who tried to bust into her home on Burlew Road must have been looking for the previous owner, because they have no enemies, and nothing worth stealing.
A home occupant grabbed a gun and opened fire, hitting a 19-year old suspect. The suspect who was struck suffered a non-life threatening chest wound.
