BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A large, multi-agency police presence mobilized on the east side of Bronson Tuesday evening following a tip regarding a missing person and possible human remains in a case involving the Coldwater Police Department.
Troopers with the Michigan State Police , deputies from the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Coldwater Police along with Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Tribal Police focused their search on a small wooded area located behind the Family Practice of Bronson off US-12.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office deployed cadaver (HR) canines to assist with the search, and the canines provided a positive alert. As a result, the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory from Lansing responded to assist with the investigation and search efforts.
After an extensive and thorough search of the area, no human remains were located.
The search concluded around 10:00 p.m. when law enforcement cleared the scene.
While the initial search yielded no results, the investigation remains active as local and state authorities continue to evaluate information regarding the case and will release more information on the missing person at a later time.
