QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council will re-visit medical marijuana later this summer.
They voted 4-3 last October to not adopt an ordinance which authorized the location of any medical marihuana facilities in the village as identified in the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act.
The agenda item that night drew a crowd of about 30 people to the meeting.
Council member Nick Loomis requested that the matter be put on the agenda for this past Tuesday night’s meeting and the Council voted 4-3 in favor of having another medical marijuana public hearing.
The make up of the Council has changed since last October’s vote.
Rebecca Horn resigned in April. She was replaced by Wendy Sallyer.
Quincy Clerk-Treasurer Tricia Rzepka say Sallyer cast the swing yes vote Tuesday in favor of the public hearing.
Rzepka says the public hearing on the medical marijuana issue will likely be held in August.
