Larry James Bailey, 79, of Union City, Michigan passed away Thursday, July 1, 2026 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo under hospice care.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family will host a memorial service at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.
Larry was born March 3, 1947, to Clifford and Betty (Wagner) Bailey in Battle Creek, Michigan. He attended Union City High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. He continued his education at Louisville University where he earned an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.
He married Linda Edwards September 1, 1979 in Union City. They shared 33 happy years together. Linda preceded Larry in death July 10, 2012.
Larry worked at American Woodcraft for 30 years before retiring from Meijer’s in 2017.
Larry was a proud member of the Emmanuel Global Methodist Church in Union City. He was also a member of the Falcon Car Club, where he was able to enjoy the love he had for model cars. In his free time, he enjoyed attending car shows and creating things with his hands. Larry was very talented in woodworking and fabrication. He was also an avid cat lover.
Larry is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Aidan and Gabriella Losoya, both of Union City; and his cousin, Floyd Fogle. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jaime Bailey.
