CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) One person was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital following a two vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in California Township.
According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department at approximately 2:16 p.m. Monday, deputies were dispatched to the
area of S. Fremont Road and Southern Road for a two-vehicle personal injury crash involving an overturned vehicle.
Under Sheriff Jason Bingham says a 2010 Dodge Journey was traveling westbound on Southern Road when an apparent mechanical issue caused the driver to be unable to stop at the posted stop sign and entered the intersection, where the vehicle struck a northbound 2023 Toyota Tacoma.
Bingham says following the collision, the Tacoma left the roadway and overturned onto its roof.
The Dodge Journey was occupied by the driver and two minor passengers none of which were injured.
A passenger in the Tacoma was transported by LifeCare Ambulance to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for
treatment of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Fremont Fire Department, Fremont Police
Department, and LifeCare Ambulance.
Bingham says that crash remains under investigation. .
