BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson has officially broken ground on the new East Corey Street and South Walker Street lift stations, launching a major $3.411 million upgrade to the city’s municipal sanitary sewer infrastructure.
The comprehensive project is designed to modernize aging systems and ensure reliable waste management service for residents for years to come.
Local utility ratepayers will see a minimized financial burden from these upgrades, as over 53 percent ($1.834 million) of the total project cost is funded through highly competitive grants secured by the city.
As construction gets into full swing, local drivers should prepare for altered traffic patterns in the immediate vicinity of the work sites.
Detours are currently active around both the East Corey Street and South Walker Street construction areas, prompting city officials to urge motorists to follow all posted signs and use caution near work zones.
In addition cemetery access drives off of E. Corey Street and Wayne Street are currently closed.
The only designated entrance and exit for the cemetery will be off of E. Grant Street.
The temporary closure will remain in effect until the completion of the Lift Station Project
