BATTLE CREEK, MI, (WTVB) – Kellogg Community College (KCC) has been named one of the elite community colleges in the United States, placing in the top 2.8% nationwide according to WalletHub’s 2026 “Best & Worst Community Colleges” report.
Out of 613 institutions evaluated across the country, KCC secured the 17th spot nationally and ranked second out of 23 community colleges in Michigan.
The financial services company analyzed schools using 18 distinct metrics across three core areas: Cost & Financing, Education Outcomes, and Career Outcomes.
Evaluated criteria included in-state tuition fees, student-to-faculty ratios, graduation rates, and graduate salaries, aiming to highlight institutions that deliver high-quality instruction at an affordable price point.
The prestigious ranking reinforces KCC’s long-standing reputation as a regional educational leader, backed by over a decade of MI School Data showing that more high school graduates in Barry, Branch, and Calhoun counties choose KCC over any other institution.
Prospective students looking to join the highly ranked institution can apply for free online at kellogg.edu/apply ahead of the Fall 2026 semester, which officially kicks off classes on August 24.
