Lindsey says the state could assist local governments in regulating data centers

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – As communities all across the state are working to regulate data centers, it appears to some the state has left those communities on an island to defend themselves by working through self imposed moratoriums and re writing local ordinances

State Senator Jonathon Lindsey of Coldwater says local moratoriums can turn into just delaying the process by kicking the can down the road he says their needs to be actual laws passed at the state level to assist those communities

Lindsey says when it comes to environmental concerns the the solution really isn’t that difficult

Until then though local government agencies and townships are left to try and restrict those data centers on their own.
