COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – All second graders in the Coldwater, Bronson, and Quincy school districts received special coloring books this month to help the kids with the awareness and prevention of child sexual abuse. The project is a collaboration spearheaded by the Coldwater Early Bird Exchange Club and the Branch County Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The 600 “Daisy Tells a Secret” coloring books were handed out during presentations by Judy Cumming of the Early Bird club and the Coalition’s Prevention Educator Tami Brackman. The books educate the children on personal safety in a positive and practical way as they learn about bad touch and good touch, how their body belongs to them, and identifies who is among their “community of safe people.”
The presentations were made in Coldwater and Bronson last week and concluded this week in Quincy. There are plans to expand the effort next year to Union City.
