PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls volleyball team went 1-2 Wednesday at the Portage Central Mini Invitational. The Cardinals beat St. Johns 27-25, 25-20, lost to Portage Central 25-12, 25-11, and dropped their match against Kalamazoo Central.
On the night, Aubrey Gebbink led the offense with 15 kills and 7 digs, with Adyson Qualls adding 12 kills, 11 digs, and 7 service aces. Kaitlyn Senyk had 5 kills, Brooklyn Closson dished out 30 assists to go with 11 digs and 4 aces, and Kinley Brown had a team-high 13 digs.
Coldwater began its season on August 19th by going 1-3 at the Vicksburg Round Robin Invitational. The Lady Cards lost to Hackett Catholic Prep 25-22, 25-23, fell to Vicksburg 26-24, 25-18, lost to St. Joseph 30-28, 25-19, and defeated SOuth Haven 25-23, 20-25, 15-8.
Coldwater will take a 2-5 record to Saturday’s Cereal City Invitational at Pennfield.
