STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run early this morning in Sturgis.
Officers with the Sturgis Department of Public Safety responded to the scene just before 6 a.m. near the intersection of Nottawa and Washington Streets.
According to authorities, an unidentified vehicle was traveling southbound when it hit the pedestrian and immediately fled the scene.
Emergency responders treated the individual at the location before transporting them to a hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
Police are actively investigating the incident and looking for leads to identify the driver and the vehicle involved.
The Sturgis Department of Public Safety has urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any relevant information to contact them immediately.
Information on the driver’s description or the vehicle’s make and model have not yet been released.
