QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Over 3,500 Consumers Energy customers in northeast Branch County had been scheduled to face a nine-hour power outage from Saturday night through Sunday morning, but that has now been postponed.
Due to the potential for storms this weekend, Consumers Energy says the planned blackout has been pushed back to Saturday, September 26 at 10:00 p.m. until Sunday, September 27 at 7:00 a.m.
Consumers says crews will upgrade a local substation to improve long-term grid reliability.
According to spokesperson Brian Wheeler, the maintenance window next weekend will temporarily affect 3,507 total customers across Quincy, Butler Township, and sections of Coldwater Township, specifically hitting neighborhoods on both sides of Marble Lake and the east side of Bartholomew Lake.
