COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools may have to move the Coldwater High School graduation date after announcing a couple of weeks ago that Commencement will take place on Friday, May 21, 2027.
C.H.S. Class of 2027 President Evan Depew told the Coldwater School Board of Education on Monday night an M.H.S.A.A. Regional track meet is also scheduled for that night.
The board was also told by a group of class officers that there would be other athletic conflicts.
Coldwater School Board President Doctor Edward Lake indicated the graduation date may change after he discussed the matter with Superintendent Paul Flynn.
Lake said it was still a fluid situation.
The original decision to hold graduation on May 21 came after district officials listened to feedback from local families who expressed concerns about potential scheduling conflicts with Memorial Day weekend plans.
Initially, district officials planned to have graduation on the same day as the Senior Breakfast, Senior Swing Out and Senior Convocation.
