COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) have launched a month-long campaign to “Join the Fight” against breast cancer this October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, city and utility employees will wear pink shirts and hard hats to raise community awareness, while local businesses and residents are encouraged to participate by wearing pink and displaying ribbons.
All funds raised during the campaign will explicitly benefit the Bronson Health Foundation’s breast cancer centers in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, directly supporting patient care and services in Branch County.
Community members can contribute to the fundraiser online or in person at Coldwater City Hall and the Dr. Browne Recreation Center.
Those who donate in person can place a pink bow on the city’s breast cancer awareness wall to honor survivors, support those in treatment, or remember loved ones lost.
Additionally, CBPU is also supporting local breast cancer awareness efforts through its partnership with the Coldwater High School Booster Club.
CBPU has contributed to the volleyball program’s Dig Pink event and the football program’s cancer-awareness event this month.
