COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The CBPU Board of Directors approved a proposal from Milsoft Utility Solutions of Abilene, Texas on Wednesday night for a Outage Management System which is computer software designed to detect, manage and restore power when an outage takes place.
Engineering Manager Andrew Cameron says it works by integrating several platforms that Coldwater currently has.
According to Cameron, communication with customers will improve during an outage as the system pinpoints where power has been lost.
He added the system will streamline their response efforts thus improving reliability.
Milsoft submitted a base bid of $55,000 with a recurring cost of $78,060 in annual subscription costs and maintenance fees for a total first year cost of $133,060. They were one of three vendors to submit proposals.
If everything goes according to plan, the targeted in-service date is June 1, 2027.
