COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a request from Sheriff Fred Blankenship on Tuesday to increase fingerprinting fees.
The request follows an $1.75 increase in fingerprint fees charged by the FBI.
Currently, schools and individuals are charged $58.25 for fingerprinting services. Under the new fee schedule, the service would increase to a flat fee of $60.
Blankenship said this will allow the Sheriff’s Department to stay budget neutral.
In other business during a mostly routine meeting, the Commissioners approved a Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority grant of $2,250 for AEDs that have been delivered and installed on each floor of the Courthouse. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department will provide training for the employees.
They also approved the appointments of Betty Rissman and Jean Myers to the Branch County Planning Commission. Rissman was appointed as a member-at-large while Myers was appointed to the Community Health position.
