COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Insight Hospital & Medical Center Coldwater has successfully performed its first echocardiogram, marking a major milestone in local cardiac care.
The specialized diagnostic test, overseen by Tariq Abdelkarim, MD, and performed by senior lead registered echo tech Caitlyn Mohon, RDCS, monitors a patient’s heart function under stress induced by exercise or medication using ultrasound imaging.
This diagnostic addition expands the facility’s overall cardiac capabilities, allowing physicians to safely evaluate Branch County patients for hidden heart conditions, such as restricted blood flow, during periods of physical exertion.
Previously, community members needing this critical cardiac testing were forced to travel outside the local area. By bringing the advanced diagnostic service directly to the community, the hospital takes another step forward in providing high-quality, convenient care close to home.
