COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After not having enough members for a quorum last Wednesday, the Coldwater Historic District Commission approved certificates of appropriateness for a pair of downtown projects on Wednesday night.
They approved one of the certificates for a pair of signs at the new Station Coney Island restaurant at 60 East Chicago. Owner Mansor Grady plans to install a new sign above the side door of the restaurant facing the western parking lot and a 12 square foot projecting sign to be placed above the sidewalk along U.S. 12 near the old Main Theater marquee.
According to the staff report, it was felt the signs were consistent with the building’s commercial use and would not significantly change its overall appearance or historic character of the resource and surrounding area.
The Commission also approved a request from Keiss Jewelry to change the color for the previously approved second story window replacements above the store at 50 West Chicago.
