COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In addition to collecting and delivering mail Saturday, letter carriers in Branch County also collected tons of food for local food pantries.
The National Association of Letter Carriers 26th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive was part of a national effort to provide assistance to millions of Americans who are struggling to put food on the table. It has become the nation’s largest single-day food drive.
Letter carriers in Coldwater collected 10,750 pounds of food, which was delivered to the Branch Area Food Pantry.
In Quincy, high school students Friday collected 5,314 pounds of food as part of their Spring Fling community service day. That food was donated to the Sonshine Food Pantry in Quincy.
