SALINE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School defeated Saline by over 10 points, 126.475 to 116.575 Monday night in a South Central Gymnastics League conference match-up. It was Coldwater’s first win over Saline in over a decade. The victory was another landmark for the Cardinals, having secured their fourth and final MHSAA Regional Qualifying score as a team.
Coldwater is now 3-0 in the SCGL conference and will host Jackson Lumen Christi Thursday for their next league competition.
Abby Travelbee finished first on the uneven bars with a score of 8.3, a personal record. Erica Rodgers posted a solid 7.9 with a stuck landing for second place.
Travelbee and Rodgers also went 1-2 in the vault. Travelbee had a score of 8.5 while Rodgers had a score of 8.4.
Travelbee earned a second place finish in floor exercise with a 8.6 score. She was followed by Layla Schoch at 7.9.
Travelbee tied for second on the balance beam with a score of 8.075. Schoch was third with a 7.75 score.
In the all-around competition, Coldwater earned three of the top four spots. Travelbee capped off her stellar night with a personal best all-around mark of 33.475 and a first place finish. Schoch earned a second place finish for her tally of 31.7 points. Rodgers totaled 30.925 points on the night for fourth place overall.
