NEWARK, NJ (WTVB) – The New Jersey Devils scored four times in a four-minute span of the third period to blow by the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 Thursday night.
Wayne Simmonds tallied twice, including the go-ahead goal, and Andy Greene and Jesper Bratt also lit the lamp for the Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood gave up one goal on 26 shots for New Jersey, which has won three-of-four.
Andreas Athanasiou scored on the power play for Detroit in the second period. Jonathan Bernier made 22 saves for the Red Wings, who have lost 12-of-14.
The Red Wings continue a four-game road trip against the Bruins in Boston tomorrow.
