Guard Gary Harris scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 21ST-ranked Michigan State cruised past Texas Southern 69-to-41 on Sunday to give the Spartans a win in their home opener.

And Western Michigan yesterday improved to 4-and-1 with its fourth straight win in a 58-to-53 decision over the University of South Florida. The victory in Tampa gave the Broncos the title of the USF Invitational.
