COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan High School Athletic Association Division Two Lower Peninsula title won by the Coldwater Boys Track team Saturday was the tenth state title in all sports in the school’s history and the first championship since 2007.
The Coldwater girls bowling team won three straight state titles in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
The Cardinal girls golf team also won three straight state championships in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
Coldwater also had success on the links in 1994 when the boys golf team brought home the Class B Lower Peninsula title. That was the first state title for Coldwater High School in 45 years.
The 1949 Coldwater Cardinals boys basketball coached by the legendary Floyd Eby won the Class B state championship.
The 1930 football team won the schools first state title when the Detroit Free Press named them state Class B champions.
