GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – The Governor Friday signed a $28 million measure for emergency funding for Flint.
To a chorus of applause from assembled lawmakers at a Michigan Press Association luncheon in Grand Rapids, a smiling Rick Snyder approved the legislation yesterday.
Some of it will be spent on bottled water, filters and testing kits, some to offset unpaid water bills but most of it will be spent identifying, treating, testing, researching and providing proper nutrition for kids who have been exposed to lead. Democrats were instantly critical of the Governor for signing the measure where he could maximize the media attention, rather than in Flint, where the money is heading.
