COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A defendant who was scheduled to go on trial Tuesday in Branch County Circuit Court instead entered a no contest plea to a charge of second degree attempted child abuse.
A three day trial had been scheduled for Andrew Daniel Colbeck, who was arrested on two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct last February following a Michigan State Police investigation.
A court spokesperson said about 60 potential jurors were dismissed after Colbeck entered into the plea agreement.
Sentencing has been scheduled for September 26, 2016.
