She was born January 18, 1950 to Marvin and Rita (VanWinkle) Wallace in Phoenix, AZ. On March 3, 1967, Anita married Dwight Cumings, and together they shared a life of love and cherished memories until his passing December 18, 2008.
Anita was a hardworking and dedicated woman who enjoyed a successful 25-year career with Intel Corporation before her retirement. Her generous spirit and desire to make a difference were evident through her devoted involvement with the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Phoenix, Arizona. She selflessly volunteered countless hours supporting charitable dinners, rodeos, and numerous community causes, always finding fulfillment in lending a helping hand and bringing people together.
Full of life and never one to shy away from a good time, Anita embraced the things that brought her happiness. An avid NASCAR enthusiast, she especially loved the excitement of being at the racetrack, cheering on her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. She enjoyed traveling, camping, spending time at the lake, and dancing whenever the opportunity arose.
Anita also had a special appreciation for the holidays, particularly Christmas and the Fourth of July, finding joy in the traditions, celebrations, and togetherness they brought. A woman of knowledge and strong convictions, she was well-versed in history and current events and took a particular interest in politics and judicial matters. She enjoyed staying informed and was never short on conversation when discussing the world around her.
Above all else, Anita’s greatest pride, deepest devotion, and most treasured joys were found in her family. They were the heart of her world and the foundation upon which she built her life. She especially cherished her role as a grandmother, finding endless happiness in the time she shared with her grandchildren. Whether surprising them with a thoughtful gift, creating a special memory, or finding her own unique way to bring a little wonder and excitement into their lives, Anita had a gift for making those she loved feel special. Her love was genuine, her generosity heartfelt, and her devotion to family unwavering.
Anita will be remembered for her spirited personality, giving heart, and the immeasurable love she shared so freely with those closest to her. Though she will be deeply missed, the joy she brought, the memories she created, and the love she instilled in her family will remain a lasting and beautiful part of her legacy.
