COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has lifted the advisory that was issued as a precaution following last Friday’s heavy rainfall.
Nearly 3 ½ inches of rain fell in about 90 minutes at the CBPU’s wastewater treatment plant which caused partially treated sewage to be discharged into the Sauk River for just over two hours.
Samples from the river were collected and the CBPU says the fecal coliform count at the U.S. 12 boat launch was well under the limits set by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
The advisory covered the Sauk River from the CBPU. Wastewater Treatment plant to the Rotary Park public access.
