LAWTON, MI (WTVB) – It will be a matchup of top ten teams tonight when the Bronson Vikings face the Kalamazoo Christian Comets in the Class C Regional title match at Lawton. The Vikings were ranked second in the state by the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association in their final poll of the season while the Comets were ranked eighth.
The match starts at 7:00 p.m. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB will start at 6:45 p.m. You can also hear the match at Local Sports Live on line at www.wtvbam.com. Tonight’s winner moves onto the state quarterfinals next Tuesday at Portage Central to face either Laingsburg or Kent City
A pair of top ten teams will meet for a Class A Regional title in Coldwater tonight as third ranked DeWitt will face fourth ranked Portage Central at 7:30 p.m. The winner advances to the state quarterfinals at Grand Haven to face either the host school or Rockford.
—MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL—
The Legg Middle School 8th grade A team lost to Parma Western 61-60 on Wednesday night. Legg was led by Cayrin Thompson who had 23 points. Spencer Rodesiler added 20 points.
The Legg Middle School 8th grade B team also lost to Parma Western 54-35. Kolby Wagoner had 18 points for Legg as their record dropped to 2-1. Both 8th grade teams host Pennfield on Monday night.
The Legg Middle School 7th grade squads split with Parma Western. The A team lost 49-44. Brandon Downs had 13 points, four steals and four assists while Gage McNew added 10 points. Ethan Crabtree and Aaron May both had eight rebounds.
The 7th grade B team won over Parma Western 45-21. Nate Tappendin had 12 points while Owen Tom had eight points and eight rebounds.
