HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say authorities were involved in a pair of police pursuits in Hillsdale County over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend which led to two arrests.
A 35-year-old man from Osseo was arrested on numerous charges after a chase which started when troopers tried to pull the suspect over for a registration plate violation. After a ten minute pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed in a private driveway.
The man ran into some woods near the crash site where he was taken into custody. The driver was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and analogues. Troopers say he also was driving without a license and was carrying a concealed firearm as well as ammunition as a convicted felon.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old man from Jonesville was arrested after a chase which started when troopers tried to pull him over for failing to signal a turn. A short pursuit took place but authorities lost contact with the vehicle. It was later found at a residence.
After a brief standoff, the suspect turned himself over to troopers. He was found to be driving on a suspended license and was also arrested for fleeing and eluding.
