COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A ceremony was held for a second straight year Wednesday at the Branch County Courthouse which honored Vietnam veterans.
The ceremony was hosted by the Coldwater chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution.
It was one of many held throughout the country on Vietnam Veterans Day.
President Obama signed a proclamation in 2012 which declares March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Day which gives Americans a chance to thank and recognize Vietnam Vets for their service.
The date marks the day the final troops helicoptered out of Vietnam. Michigan lost 2,650 men in that war, but still has a little less than a quarter million Vietnam Vets living in the state.
