COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Farm Bureau members reaffirmed three resolutions during their annual meeting Monday night at the Dearth Community Center in Coldwater.
One of the resolutions called for funds from the annual licensing of horse drawn vehicles to be used strictly for county roadway maintenance. This would be for horse drawn vehicles used mainly public roads.
A last minute resolution expressed members concerns about recent changes made by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality as it relates to crop nitrogen utilization.
The policy called for a number of organizations to work together.
Members reaffirmed state resolutions which urged grower education and outreach efforts to alleviate potential spray drift issues associated with the likely increase of Dicamba and 2 and 4D herbicides. Potential state pesticide licensing for Dicamba and 2 and 4D was also supported.
Lindsey along with Brian Pridgeon and Jeremy Brenner were elected as Directors at Large. Eric Bronson will take over as District One Director which covers Batavia, Matteson, Sherwood and Union Townships.
