BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – There was no meth lab found early yesterday in Branch County’s Noble Township, but Michigan State Police say a warrant will be sought to charge a man with possession of methamphetamine.
Central Dispatch received a call from the 29-year old man who said he needed an ambulance for a medical condition. State Police say when a trooper arrived at the house on Whipple Road, he noticed a strong chemical odor. The Bronson Fire Department responded with a hazmat unit and while no evidence of an active meth cook was located in the residence, a plastic bag that had suspected meth in it was discovered in the back yard of the home.
According to State Police, the suspect admitted he tossed the bag outside after he realized authorities were on their way following his call to 911.
The man was transported to the Community Health Center of Branch County to be checked out after he told the police his heart was racing. The suspect was treated and the ER took a blood draw and the pending results will be submitted as evidence for possible charges.
According to State Police, a two year old and a four old were discovered at the home and protective services was notified with the children later turned over to family members.
