COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A weather website is predicting below normal temperatures in Branch County will last into the month of May.
The normal high for April 22 in Coldwater is 60 degrees but Wednesday was yet another chilly day as the mercuty struggled to get into the 40s and there were snow showers at times in southwest Michigan.
The web site www.accuweather.com says temperatures in Coldwater as of Wednesday have been below normal eight out of the last 10 days.
How cold has it been for this time of year? Last Friday’s high in Coldwater when six inches of snow fell was 36 degrees. The high was actually two degrees below the normal low temperature for the date.
The April chill comes after Coldwater had highs of 72 degrees on April 7 and 70 degrees the following day.
The temperature has not gotten into the 60s since Easter Sunday when the high hit 61 degrees.
While the average high for the last week of April in Coldwater is in the low 60s, the extended forecast is calling for highs next week in the low to mid 50s.
