COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a bid from a Mason company Wednesday night in order to perform a series of technology improvements in the Henry L. Brown Municipal Building.
The building is 18 years old and most of the audio-visual system equipment was part of the building when it opened in 2002.
Replacement parts are becoming difficult to acquire and the system does not interface well with newer technologies.
SHSO of Mason submitted a MiDeal bid of over $70,000 which means the city’s share would be over $35,000.
CBPU Director Jeff Budd says there has been a positive reaction from the public to the online streaming of meetings during the COVID-19 shutdown.
He said in his memo to the board there is a desire among staff to continue these streams once in-person meetings resume.
