BRUSHY PRAIRIE, IN (WTVB) – A pair of second half goals helped Prairie Heights, Indiana defeat Bronson 2-1 Thursday afternoon in the Bronson High School soccer program’s first varsity match ever.
Bronson’s only goal came from sophomore Sebastián Delapaz in the first half.
Sophomore Cesar Padilla had 19 saves in the game for Bronson. The Vikings had 14 shots in goal.
In boys tennis Thursday, Marshall topped Bronson 6-2.

In cross country, the Bronson boys finished first while the Vikings girls came in second on Thursday in a meet hosted by Sturgis.
Bronson won the boys meet with 26 points followed by Sturgis with 55, Mendon with 74 and Constantine with 80. Bronson’s Luis Ortiz was second as he finished less than a second behind race winner Tremaine Brown of Sturgis. Reagan Mayer of Bronson took third. Aden Hathaway, Ashton Wells, Brayden Ransbottom and Ben Thomas Grate finished sixth through ninth for the Vikings while Preston Wronikowski was 11th.
Sturgis won the girls meet with 25 points followed by Bronson with 40 and Constantine with 65. Bronson’s Sidney Swick was second behind race winner Meah Yunker of Sturgis. Bronson’s Grace Welch was third, Jenna Salek was tenth and Abby Ware was 11th.
