BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Summer vacation is over as it’s back to school in one form or another on Tuesday for students in the Coldwater, Bronson and Quincy school districts as well as the Branch Intermediate School District and Pansophia Academy.
Parents have been given several options on how their children will be instructed. There will be a mixture of in person and virtual classes to start the school year. Local districts have posted information on their websites.
Classes were originally scheduled to start August 24 but were delayed until Tuesday because the required PPE and computers were hard to get in a timely manner.
School officials also felt extra time was needed to allow staff members to be prepared for the new safety guidelines and to get supplies in for the start of the school year.
Bronson Superintendent Steve Wilson said in a post on the district’s Facebook page, “Due to the ever-changing nature of this pandemic, we’re building this bicycle while we’re riding it. All of us are trying new things, sharing thoughts and ideas, and most importantly, we are keeping who we work for and why what we do is so important at the forefront of our decisions – our students.”
Union City Community Schools resumed classes on August 26.
